She And I

She was to be a Doctor
And I a busy Architect
Paperwhites and lilies
A white picket fence stands
As little feet jump so high
And bounce upon the beds
Giggles and laughter echo
Through the hall and down the stairs
Toys scattered about the floor
Puppies frolic on the lawn
As family walks are foremost
Housework left undone
Some dreams do come true
Others fall by the side
Some dreams are just dreams
Of a different life and time
