Rain

The warm summer clouds
Surprise us this day
Cool rain swarms to greet us
Through the meadow we run

Under the arched doorway
Across the silent stone hall
Past a forgotten piano
That once gave its soul

Cold tiles pass our feet
Push open a wooden door
Lean out a broken window
And kiss in our embrace

As the rain blows in to touch us
With its sweet and floral scent
Streams down our eager face
To melt upon our lips

Our hands join together
So close we almost touch
The rain gives us something
To help us understand

We breathe in the warmth
The rain opens our eyes
As we reach deep inside
For the higher love we see
