Indiana Sky

Under a shining Indiana sky
I was there and saw her pass by
So beautiful to me
She didn’t see me waiting there

Two years older with longer hair
Faded jeans and dark sunglasses
Sitting alone I miss her so much
Ordinary hides me from her sight

Crossing through the courtyard
With laughing friends she strolls
Moving close enough now
To feel the tremble in my heart

I so wanted to tell her
How I need and love her so
I wish that I was stronger
But I just can’t say the words

She glances over her shoulder
Her eyes find me sitting here
I turn away and face the sunlight
As fall fills the campus air

A chance I should have taken
To touch her lips once more
Was lost forever on that day
Under a shining Indiana sky
